Greener frames

Reduce, re-use, re-cycle are the guiding principles to minimise environmental impact. Our frames satisfy all three. We reduce the requirement for new PVC-U therefore reducing oil consumption and carbon emissions. We re-use any waste PVC-U created during manufacturing processes. We can recycle PVC-U windows that are being replaced and by using innovative technology we recycle them back into Our products.

High performance levels

Our products will meet exactly the same high performance criteria that you have come to expect from modern windows and conservatories. Spectus products can exceed all regulatory requirements for security, safety, durability, thermal and acoustic insulation.

Quality and stylish looks

Our products are not only better for the environment but come in a range of pleasing aesthetic options throughout our product range which will complement the look of your home.

It looks the same. But it's greener. That's better for the environment. And for your home!

On the outside, Our looks as smart and stylish as the best frames on the market. On the inside, it's really different because Our uses injected core technology to introduce recycled PVC-U materials into the heart of the frame profile. The real beauty is that there is no drop in the quality of the visual appearance and no compromise on performance - the frame is just as strong and durable as ever and can achieve an 'A' rating for window energy efficiency along with an 'A' rating from the BRE Green Guide specification.

Environmental Features

  • Our windows and doors provide an outstanding barrier against heat and noise loss - even in the most extreme whether conditions.
  • Windows and doors made from PVC negates the use of timber, protecting the planets trees.
  • We recycle our own waste and generate new products whilst still retaining the highest standards in quality of material.
  • Our windows and doors do not require painting and therefore don't consume additional harmful materials or generate associated waste.
  • Our entire manufacturing process - from production to installation - is confined to the UK and Ireland thereby minimising transportation and fuel consumption from wider exportation.

Spectus Our frames could cut the UK's annual CO2 emissions by the equivalent of boiling a kettle 855 million times

0.11 kWh per use based on heating 1 Litre of water (Source: http://calculator.carbonfootprint.com) Therefore 1Kwh = 9.091 boils = 0.535kg/Kwh equivalent 50,310,000Kg CO2 equivalent / 0.535kg = 94,037,383 x 9.091 boils = 854,893,848 boils.

The UK produces 330 million tonnes of waste each year - enough waste to fill the Albert Hall every 1.5 hours

The UK produces 330 million tonnes of waste per year (Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk) Volume of the Royal Albert Hall = 3,060,000 cubit feet (Source: www.stevehoffman.tv) 1 cubic foot = 0.028316 cubic meters, therefore = 86,649 cubic meters. Assuming 1 tonne of waste = 1.5 cubic meters it would take 57,766 tonnes of waste to fill the Albert Hall. 330,000,000/57766 = 5712.7 halls full/365 days = 15.65 times per day. 24/15.65 = 1.5 hours.

Spectus Our frames could cut the UK's annual CO2 emissions by the equivalent of a car travelling 201 million miles

1000 miles in an EU 2009 Ford Fiesta, Post 2009 Model year 1.25 Duratec (82PS) M5 = 0.25 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (Source: http://calculator.carbonfootprint.com) 50,310 tonnes CO2 equivalent/0.25 tonnes = 201,240 x 1,000 miles = 201,240,000 miles.

Spectus Our frames could cut the UK's annual CO2 emissions by the equivalent of almost 50,000 return flights from London to New York

London - New York return flight = 1.01 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (Source: http://calculator.carbonfootprint.com) 50,310 tonnes CO2 equivalent/1.01 tonnes = 49,811 return flights.
